08.12.2021 – New restrictions - pupils are sent home, nightlife and venues must close down, and more

Wednesday evening there was a press conference with, among others, the prime minister. Here it was announced that there would be implemented various restrictions, with some of them starting from Friday the 10th of December, since this was agreed upon in the parliament's epidemic commitée.

Bullets:

  1. Elementary school pupils will be sent home from the 15th of December until the 4th of January, both days included. Efterskole pupils will be sent home from the 19th of December until the 7th of January, both days included.

  2. Night clubs have to close, and the same must venues with more than 50 standing spectators.

  3. Restaurants and bars must close between midnight and 05 in the morning, and customers must now also wear facemasks inside restaurants and bars when not sitting down.

  4. The corona passport will be changed, so a vaccination injection will only be valid for 7 months, instead of the current 12 months.

  5. Strong encouragements to get vaccinated (both for children and adults), cancel Christmas activities, as well as to work from home whenever possible, in both the public and private sectors.

  6. There will be compensation schemes in place for companies that are directly and indirectly affected, both in terms of loss of revenue, starting at a 30 % decrease, and for the nightclubs and similar, full compensation for fixed expenditures, as well as reimbursement of lost income for venues, as well as for events indoor with more than 350 people. Salary compensation schemes are going to be negotiated soon. These schemes will be in effect retrospectively, starting from the 1st of December.
