10.06.2020 - Sweethearts from EU/Schengen/UK can enter Denmark from the 15th of June.

Hi everyone. In light of the happy news, I would first like to say that I am really, really happy, that so many of you ex-pats can now see your loved ones again. I know this time has been really difficult for you! I would also like to express my deepest sympathies to those of you, who are not yet able to see your loved ones. I think we are not far away now, so stay strong and patient!

I would be so happy if you guys would send me a picture of yourself when you see your sweethearts/fiancées etc. again for the first time since the shutdown. It would be a little glimmer of happiness in an otherwise difficult time for all of us. I am intending to make an exceptional "post of happiness" at some point, to cheer us all up :) Please let me know if I cannot publish them, then I will note it down, and only keep it between you and me :)

With love,

Nicki.

TODAY'S BULLETS

  1. From the 15th of June can all citizens living in Slesvig-Holsten in Germany, as well as people with permanent residence in the EU, UK and the Schengen Area who want to visit sweethearts, fiancées, grandparents and grandchildren, as well as for business travels, job interviews etc. enter Denmark. The full list can be seen below.

  2. Germany will open its border to Denmark from the 15th of June, from which they will no longer do border control for people coming from Denmark, Switzerland, France and Austria.

  3. The R-number in Denmark has increased to 1.0. However, the amount of data available is very low, so the statistical significance of the result is not as solid. The report from the SSI also makes it clear that the level of infection spread in Denmark is still very low.

  4. People who become infected will now be contacted with offers of help and counselling to identify close contacts and possible infection chains. This is a change of strategy from previously where the Danish Patient Safety Agency were waiting for the infected to call them.

Hopefully we will soon see many scenes like this one! / Photo: Nori - https://weheartit.com/entry/199066940

POLITICS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The Ministry of Justice announced that the rules of entry into Denmark will be revised. From the 15th of June can the following below enter Denmark. The government will also look into a regional opening in terms of Southern Sweden and a complete opening to all of Finland to happen as soon as possible.

  1. All citizens living in Slesvig-Holsten in Germany, who only have to prove they live in the region.

  2. People with permanent residence in the EU, UK and the Schengen Area who want to visit sweethearts, fiancées, grandparents and grandchildren, as well as for business travels, job interviews etc.

  3. People with permanent residence in the EU and the UK, who owns a summerhouse/kolonihavehus/holiday apartment/boat/permanent camping spot in Denmark.

  4. People who can prove to be in transit in Denmark with the intention of going on vacation outside of Denmark.

  5. Danes living abroad will be allowed to take their family to Denmark for vacation or family visits. So far has the spouses, live-ins and children of Danes living abroad, who also didn’t have Danish citizenship, only be allowed to stay temporarily in Denmark to work.

  • Germany will open its border to Denmark from the 15th of June, from which they will no longer do border control for people coming from Denmark, Switzerland, France and Austria. This is the same day as the Danish authorities do no longer advise against travelling to Germany.

  • The social service sector will now return to normal. The communication that has given the municipalities the opportunity to not uphold certain public obligations and rights on the social service area due to the coronavirus has now been revoked. The municipalities have seven days to return the case work to normal conditions in cases of vulnerable adults as well as children, young people and adults with disabilities. Meetings etc. must therefore once again be done physically.

  • Schools and institutions should reject children who have been on vacation abroad outside of Denmark, Norway, Germany and Iceland, when they come back to school, so they can enter 14 days of quarantine, says the Ministry of Children and Education.

HEALTH-RELATED INFORMATION

  • 12.016 have tested positive, 15 more than yesterday.

  • 71 are hospitalised with corona-virus, 2 fewer than yesterday.

  • Of those 71 are 17 in intensive care, 2 more than yesterday.

  • Of those 17 are 7 in respirators, 2 more than yesterday.

  • 593 Corona-infected residents in Denmark have died, the same as yesterday.

  • 602.118 have been tested for corona-virus (+7.328) with 12.016 positives (2.00 % positives), a drop of 0.02 %-point from yesterday.

  • 10.904 are reported as healthy again, after having been diagnosed with coronavirus, 55 more than yesterday.

  • The R-number in Denmark has increased to 1.0. However, the amount of data available is very low, so the statistical significance of the result is not as solid. The report from the SSI also makes it clear that the level of infection spread in Denmark is still very low.

  • People who become infected will now be contacted with offers of help and counselling to identify close contacts and possible infection chains. This is a change of strategy from previously where the Danish Patient Safety Agency were waiting for the infected to call them. This resulted in that only 1 out of 10 newly infected contacted the agency. This new strategy, which is actually a return to the old strategy we had before the 11th of March where Denmark shut down, is therefore a result of wanting to be more aggressive in the tracking of people who might have been in contact with corona infected.
