18.06.2020 - Sweethearts from all over the world can enter Denmark from the 27th of June.

TODAY'S BULLETS

  1. Sweethearts from all over the world will now be allowed to enter Denmark from the 27th of June. Parents and grandchildren from all over the world will also be allowed to enter Denmark and the same for people with job interviews in Denmark. The only requirement will be a negative corona-test answer taken within 72 hours from the time of entry into Denmark.

  2. The government will remove the guidelines of not travelling to all countries in the EU and Schengen-area, as well as the UK, from the 27th of June, meaning the Danes can hold vacations in these countries without being advised to enter 14 days of quarantine when returning. The only exceptions are Sweden and Portugal, as well as third countries. This is a result of the new model for how to regulate travels in and out of Denmark, based on objective criteria.

  3. The six-night-stay rule will be removed for tourists from Skåne, Halland and Blekinge in Sweden, as well as Slesvig-Holsten from the 27th of June.

  4. The suspension of the 225-hour rule for cash benefit receivers will be extended until the 8th of September.

  5. The Danish official app to track and stop corona infection chains has been released. The name is “Smittestop”. The phone uses the Bluetooth signal to register and remember who you have met with. The meetings are only saved anonymously on your own phone, and not at a central server.

POLITICS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Sweethearts from all over the world will now be allowed to enter Denmark from the 27th of June. Being sweethearts will now be on the list of worthy purposes. Parents and grandchildren from all over the world will also be allowed to enter Denmark and the same for people with job interviews in Denmark. The only requirement will be a negative corona-test answer taken within 72 hours from the time of entry into Denmark.

  • The government will remove the guidelines of not travelling to all countries in the EU and Schengen-area, as well as the UK, from the 27th of June, meaning the Danes can hold vacations in these countries without being advised to enter 14 days of quarantine when returning. The only exceptions are Sweden and Portugal, as well as third countries. This is a result of the new model for how to regulate travels in and out of Denmark, based on objective criteria. If a country has less than 20 newly infected out of 100.000 citizens per week, it will get on the list of countries that are considered okay to travel to, if caution is shown. The country must have more than 30 newly infected out of 100.000 citizens per week in order to be taken off the list again. Portugal's number is 20.2 and Sweden's is currently 75.7. A plan for third countries is currently not planned, informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeppe Kofod (S).

  • The six-night-stay rule will be removed for tourists from Skåne, Halland and Blekinge in Sweden, as well as Slesvig-Holsten from the 27th of June. These regions do not live up to the criteria of no more than 20 infected out of 100.000 citizens, but if a negative test taken within 72 hours before entering can be shown, will it be possible to enter anyway for people from these regions.

  • The suspension of the 225-hour rule for cash benefit receivers will be extended until the 8th of September. This decision was made by a majority made up of Socialdemokratiet, Venstre, De Radikale, Socialistisk Folkeparti, Enhedslisten and Alternativet.

  • An agency underneath the Danish Ministry of Defense removed important information about the old respirators to Italy in a mail sent to DR. The 8th of June did the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announce that Italy had been offered respirators. Three days later did DR ask questions about those respirators to the Ministry of Defense. In the reply was a passage that they couldn’t be used to treat corona-patients removed. It later emerged that the respirators were useless to treat corona patients.

  • Two 2nd grade classes at Lundergårdsskolen in Hjørring have been sent home for the remainder of the school year after two siblings in two separate classes have tested positive. Bagterpskolen and Højene Skole in Hjørring have also had cases of corona, and 12 classes were sent home in Frederikshavn municipality were sent home earlier this week, since several pupils have played football with an infected boy.

HEALTH-RELATED INFORMATION

  • 12.344 have tested positive, 40 more than yesterday.

  • 38 are hospitalised with corona-virus, 1 fewer than yesterday (a new way of calculating the number of hospitalised has entered into effect today, and the numbers from yesterday have been adjusted to 39, instead of 43, ed.).

  • Of those 38 are 6 in intensive care, the same as yesterday.

  • Of those 6 are 3 in respirators, 1 fewer than yesterday.

  • 600 Corona-infected residents in Denmark have died, 2 more than yesterday.

  • 691.419 have been tested for corona-virus (+14.149) with 12.344 positives (1.78 % positives), a drop of 0.03 %-point from yesterday.

  • 11.242 are reported as healthy again, after having been diagnosed with coronavirus, 57 more than yesterday.

  • The Danish official app to track and stop corona infection chains has been released. The name is “Smittestop”. The phone uses the Bluetooth signal to register and remember who you have met with. The meetings are only saved anonymously on your own phone, and not at a central server.

  • A nursing home in Solrød, ‘Plejecenteret Christians Have, Altiden’ has been hit by a corona-outbreak, where five employees and one resident have become infected.

  • 18 people who have tested positive for coronavirus have had a connection to the plane from Pakistan, which landed on the 6th of June. 16 were on board the plane, and 2 are close contacts to someone who was on board the plane. Four people are considered to have been infectious at the time they were on the plane.

  • A male cleaning assistant in his 50’s who was cleaning at a corona-ward at Herlev Hospital died this spring from coronavirus. The case has been reported as a work injury, and it is now currently being investigated whether he was infected after having been cleaning isolation chambers without using protective equipment. This is the third case of death among front row employees from corona. The others were a 36-year old health assistant at Bispebjerg Hospital and a 63-year old doctor at Hvidovre Hospital.

  • Region Syddanmark has no hospitalised with coronavirus, which is the first time in 3 months. At the peak were 84 hospitalised in the region, and a total of 250 citizens have been hospitalized so far in the region.

  • The SSI has every week called in 1.750 representatively selected Danes to do a corona-test, in order to monitor the spread of the disease. But only a very little amount of the people who are selected actually shows up, says the SSI. Thereby is the investigation actually useless, since the results aren’t representative.

  • A new way of counting the number of hospitalised corona-patients will be used from now on, says the SSI. A covid-19 hospitalisation will only be registered if it begins within 14 days after the first positive corona-test. This way can you avoid patients who tested positive in March, and then were hospitalised after an accident in June. A hospitalisation will also not count if it surpasses 90 days after the first positive test, in order to remove patients who are hospitalised for longer periods with e.g. a chronic disease.
